You've got a nice idea here, but the planes just don't fit. They look like someone stuck them on (I wonder why...). I think it's the lighting...it doesn't blend. Not sure really how you could fix it though...try darkening the planes.

I agree, with the sun in the back, where does the light illuminating the top of the planes come from? But a good idea!

I think the lighting matches pretty good. It's the colour that messes up the blending. Try making the P38s more yellow than white.

I think the lighting and overall compostion shows potential. I agree that the aircraft look placed and their attitude is unrealistic. One more thing, i'd probably want to leave out the UFO next time around..

Farvel, keep going in this intense, color rich lighting direction. I honestly think you were really close to a phenomenal edit here.

I like the composition and background, but as was said, they look stuck on, the lighting's strange, their colour doesn't fit....

But this doesn't have to be the finished product, does it
