It isn't actually that bad a shot Immelman, it's a good scene and a very good base to build on. The way the trees disappear into the fog is wonderful, as with the runway.

The only two things that could do with improving are:

  • The angle. It's' a good angle indeed, but I feel that the aircraft clutters up the shot with this sort of angle, e.g. perhaps if you were to get a different camera view and look down on the runway from above the aircraft and not as close, you'd have a more spacious shot and have a less cluttered shot.
  • The lighting. Although nothing is truly wrong with the lighting, you can play around with the time of day and create wonderful golden glows with fog and clouds at sunset, or get some brilliant colours at dawn. You'll find that the lighting also makes the aircraft stand out if you can get a dark-ish background with the light from the sun reflecting off of it's fuselage.

Hope this helps you! 8)

It needs contrast.  Contrast is very important in screenshots, especially if the weather is bad or if the plane matches the background.

Hey Immelman, that's not a bad shot at all.
