Jake's Take: An introduction

Hello everyone, and welcome to Jake's Take, the weekly article on a range of topics regarding screenart. Clipper asked me if I wanted to do this, and I gladly accepted his offer.
Jake's Take is intended to be a sort of tips and tricks article, with my tips for taking screenshots, and the occasional article highlighting amazing screenshots. I will always be open to suggestions for future articles, so feel free to send me a personal message with your requests.
For this first article, I figured Id introduce myself:
My name is Jacob Henry Lynn, Im 17 years old and I live in Bellaire, Texas, a small city inside Houston. I am a senior at Bellaire High School and I currently plan on going to college to get a degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
When I was really young, I was a big time car kid. I loved cars, and my parents occasionally remind me of how I used to see cars and know what they were, and that I called Toyotas 'Tyotas'. My interest in aviation took a long time to develop. It all started when I was in first grade, when an Astronaut came to our class. I was so amazed by his stories that I immediately became interested in space. I read all sorts of books on space and continued to develop my interests.
Then, in 1997, Microsoft's Flight Simulator 98 was released. My dad bought it for himself, but he never found the time to even open the box. Well I did, and I started to fly in FS98. I quickly got CFS and started playing that, and thats when I became interested in aviation.
At that point I was still just a dabbler, I didnt know anything about planes or flying, I just knew that planes were cool. No, I didnt really became the huge aviation buff that I am now until 2003, when FS9 came out.
At first I just played it like I played FS98, flying around with no idea what I was doing. One day, however, I stumbled across a website called 'simviation' and I immediately fell in love. I joined the forums and I have been a member here for nearly 3 years.
My screenshot career began almost immediately. It was a certain post by our commercial expert Nexus. He posted a series of screenshots of a Continental 737 approaching TNCM, and they were amazing. I was so amazed by these screenshots that I quickly got myself Grab Clip Save and started taking my own.
For the first couple of years, I was terrible. My screenshots looked like crap, and often they were oversized and deleted before anyone could look at them. But I was determined to become better. Over the years I improved to where I am today, and I still get better every time I take a screenshot.
I dont take as many now as I used to because I spend most of my time flying instead of taking screenshots, but I still take as many as I can.
If you are wondering 'why should I listen to you?', well, I have won first place in the Canadian Pilots screenshot contest twice, I came in third there once, and my screenshots have been featured in the Classic British Files Screenshot gallery.
The purpose of this article is for me to pass on my knowledge to all the rising screenshot stars. I am here to help, and I have a lot of tips and strategies for taking screenshots. Again I encourage you to send me PMs on topics that you want because this article is for you.
