Monitor settings...

...anyways, you know who you are  ;)

Just a couple of gamma scales taken from Adobe Gamma Utility..

Anyways, in the first picture, you should see 11 different shades of grey, with black on the left end and pure white on the other end, and all the colors should be completely pure.

And in the second picture, you should be able to see up to 32 different shades in the top row*...

...all the colors should be completely pure, and 0 should be  black and 244 should be just about white (not not yet there...)!

..and if you're re-adjusting your monitor, start with the middle grey (128 in the second picture) and work toward the ends...


...and hopefully no more complainin' about screenshots that are too dark...

...and no more screenshots that literally fry out my retenas just from looking at them ::)

Nice little tip...Im a little off on the very brights for the second one, but not enough to make me change anything

Nice and helpful. This should be Stickied or placed in the tutorials library.
