Some personal tips

Postby BAW0343 » Sun Jul 09, 2006 11:41 pm

Thought id get in on the action and re-enforce some tips already given (and i had nowhere elce to post these  ;) )

These were some of my contest rejects from the past couple months, good, but wernt what i wanted:

Note the angle and distance, I took these before Recoder came out. I used The tower view to get this, i made it early/late enough in the night to take the shots with the moon, i just went into tower view and moved the plane how i needed. The tower view isnt as nessisary now that we have recorder but its still simpler! here are 2 more examples:

also for better quality i take my shots in 1024x760 or whatever then resize to 800x600 look here for a full size:

This is a little to simple for my taste, a few stars and the moon with 80% just black wasnt very good

And on this i zoomed in on the cockpit so you could see the detail of the pilot aswell as the moon, also note this was taken with my laptop after my format and my graphics went to hell, so what i did was not include the ground. I used what my computer could render and used that to take the shot.

This is one of my rejects, notice how i use a diffrent angle on this and i used the weather to get a cloud infront of the moon for that "mood" and the morning light adds alot, the plane is lit up and the back is dark so that the plane is the subject and the background is just extra

This was my contest entry awhile ago but it didnt conform to the rules so it was sent away  ;)

I used it beacuse of the simplicity, the lighting on this aicraft was fantastic and the angle was unique. Im not really shure what elce to say so i'll allow the experienced members use these to poiont out good things to do with the screenshots and also the bad things to do, how to improve ect...   comment, nitpick, poke at, make fun of, and um use the pics?

Very informative :P

That last one is truly stunning, what a pic! Shame it wasn't allowed for that rotation topic, otherwise it would have at least been a finalist.

For the Large moon its really easy. Well first you need to get a good moon texture, FS Skyworld has an EXELENT one, i believe this is from perfect sky, i really cant rember. But its not the best moon texture. I used tower but you can also use F1 view or recorder, but get the camera view a good distance away from the aircraft, align the plane with the moon and zoom in, quite simple to do, and verry effective.

Edit:

Also realized you need to pick a date when the moon is full, note in the 2nd to lanst pic the moon is less than half full, but still gave a good effect.
