What is the point of that 42 page thing. I got it installed is FSX in 5 minutes without looking at that. Piece of cake as long as you understasnd where the folders go. Here's my entry:

Exactly. What I did was follow some existing WOAI/MAIW packs that were installed via the WOAI installer. Found where everything was and went form there. Everything works great, and I have most of the MAIW packs installed now! Lots of military aircraft flying around!

Cool shot by the way! I like the perspective.

My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

LOL........The "point" is that not everyone out there knows as much about files and folders as the next guy.  We have found out through experience that if we do not make it as simple and detailed as possible, then we end up having to answer questions all day long.

Most people do not know that the prop textures that are used for FS9 AI aircraft do not work correctly in FSX.  Did you know that??  If so great, but most people don't.  Same thing with transparent canopys, their alpha channel has to be flipped in FSX to work properly.

There are all kinds of little differences that exist between FS9 and FSX.  Being thorough, never hurt anyone.

Yes, so there is still time for you to get a shot in. And that you only have FSX isn't an issue anymore. Because Martin Gossmann created an installation guide for the MAIW packages, which is available on his website, The Owl's Nest. There are all kinds of useful utilities that he has written and makes freely available. Have a look around, you just might find something useful that you don't already have.

Here is the link to the PDF format guide.

Quit with the excuses and uncertainty. Just do it! Might learn a few things while installing it too!

If you need help with the FSX install I can tell you exactly how to do it in a couple of sentences so you don't have to read that 42 page PDF doc.
