sorry about this; I can't find nick's sun fix on simv. Could anyone provide a link? ;)

After a very comprehensive search of 'Sun FX' i came up with this  ;D, search for this file name nicks_sunfix1.zip

Those purple clouds are a little distracting and the floor could have looked  'cleaner'.

What I do like is the lighting and perspective.

you did copy the .cfg (suneffect.cfg or something like that) didn't you?

otherwise you would just get a white circle

Cobra, your running DX10 with light bloom enabled right? The problem may be that. DX10.

I seem to now be having similar problems with nick's new sun... when I turn light bloom on the bloom is excessive and when I turn it off I get a white disc with only the faintest hint of a corona. :-?
