Screenshot help...

Postby MD500 » Fri Nov 06, 2009 6:42 am

I want to give a try and upload an screenshot for this month contest, but, how I can make it with the resolution so I can stick to the rules?, and how I take the frame off the screenshot?, e.g. the menu bar of FS, and the bottom bar of the screen.

Thanks a lot....

Hi. I don't know which software you use to take & save screenshots. You can resize images with any graphics editor. Most graphics editors have a Save for Web feature where you can adjust the compression of images in JPEG format to below the 150 Kb forum limit.

According to the competition rules cropping is not allowed. The answer is to take the shot in Full Screen mode. Alt + Enter.

I'm using Snapshot, when I save the screenshot, it shows 98.1 Kb, 1280x800

Thanks

That seems rather a small file size for that size image. Of course, a lot will depend on how graphics intensive the shot is. I'm not familiar with Snapshot but it might be better to set it up to send the shots straight to your favourite editor & process them from there.

For tips & tricks check out the tutorial library from stickies at the top of this forum menu.
