Posting this and a few others caused barely a ripple (http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2 ... 1198446023), but I like 'em, so would you guys mind rating this one? Yes, I know, I should have zoomed in more according to most, but in this case, I wanted to show the emptiness of the sky....these guys were based in Iwo Jima, and flew 8 hour missions to Tokyo, see also in the WWII gallery.
Anyway, so much for the background, but what do you think of the screenshot(s)?

No idea why it caused 'barely a ripple'... those clouds alone make it at least a 7... the fact that its the clouds with the mustangs makes it a 9.5 - not a 10 'cos I feel that the mustangs look a teensie bit basic and undetailed - but that's minor. :D

mmm...the clouds are nice, but I'm not too keen on the angle, so an 8 :)

Funny you should say that. These are Shockwave P-51's that I repainted myself, based on the colors of the P-51's of the 462nd FS/506th FG. I'm actually corresponding with Ed Linfante, the original pilot of 616, the daughter of the pilot of 640 and the son of the pilot of 607. The repaints have been based on pictures of the original aircraft and input from pilots and letter by pilots, and are as accurate as is possible with the information that is available. Every single detail is as correct as I can make it.
On the other hand, I agree that the other side of the a/c shows more details (see the pics in the payware section), with nose art and mission markings and all that stuff. Still, I had to protest against the 'basic and undetailed'....
But thanks for the nice grade!

Maybe it was the perspective and zoom that made it appear that way... either way it really doesn't affect the shot very much at all in the grand scheme of things... :D
