Ok...rather than nominate my own crappy edit for the weekly hotshot or similar stuff I decided to see what everyone thought about this first:

How can I improve on my edits? I'm trying to go for that artwork like feel some edits have.

Okay.... I love the colours - you increased saturation, right? -  and the wheels look very rounded and shiny, like real wheels, not FS wheels.... the plane looks very nice, but the empty sky above is what I don't like...

I agree, the sky looks a tad empty, The angle looks very original but try to have a bit more lightning effect :)

Some very rich coloring going on here, but I think you should and can give more in the depth department. Something to really seperate your screenart from everyone elses. Drama, action, storyline, unique perspectives, the list goes on and on. Don't get me wrong, a fine screenshot, but would love to see you "push your limits" a bit higher.. :)

Roger that guys, I will give it a go. ;)

@krigl, thanks but no I did not increase saturation. ;) I adjusted colours manually. I also dodged and burned a bit. ;)

I'll try and blur the background next time to give it a bit more depth and I will add some clouds...I know there is a brush out there for paintshop that adds cloud brushes, it was posted here by BounreID...anyone know where I can find these?

It's a very good start and a good base to work from, An-225 8-)

Are you using photoshop for your edits? If so, for a better heatblur effect (which I picked up from the editied screenie forums), if you select an area behind the engine where you think the heatblur would lay, then use the "Ocean Ripple" effect, and play around with its settings until you've got that right. Then use a slight Gaussian Blur (mind you, any sort of blur would probably work) so it isn't so prominent. ;)

If you're not using Photoshop or a program with similar effects, please disregard this message. ;D

Actually that is what I'm doing. ;) Only I was taught to use the "ripple" instead of Ocean Ripple. Photoshop all the way!

Try it with Ocean Ripple with a slight more magnitude than this, then throw in some gaussian blur and use the blur tool to soften the edges of the heat 8-)

lol yes I know that. I'm thinking of that...other...one. You know! The one where you can nominate your own/someone elses shot! Ugh, StudioV is so confusing.  ::) Hey I should be at school right now...but I'm not. Don't worry I didn't skip school of my own accord! Family crisis has sprung on me.  ::) ;)
