So, while taking screenshots....

Postby Airshow_lover » Sat Sep 23, 2006 11:04 pm

How do you normally take shots?

Like, for some of these threads it's like form this airport to another airport, with shots pre-flight, in flight, and post-flight.

So, do you just take shots when you feel like it, or do you go into FS knowing what you want to get accomplished with the shots?

I ope that made sense...

My procedure is centered around getting the best out of my system while having fun. I always fly on lowest or near lowest settings to get about 10FPS cause my system sucks. Screenshotting while flying can't work for me. I record that flight and then go back in and play the recording at high settings as this is easier on the frames.
My set normally takes the order of pre-, in-, and post-flight as you said. I don't normally know what position exactly my craft will take but I just pause at aesthetically pleasing angles and take shots describing the order of flight.
So I guess you could say my method is a mix of both: just flying for fun to see what happens and knowing what I want accomplished. Hope that made sense.

I usually Fly when I see a new creation calling me to take her up... then it's choosing a suitable location... ( usually a mountainous area in my sim) and Then I play with weather and time settings a bit!

The most important thing  is... I pause the sim! Doing that allows me to take my time in finding a nice angle and zoom! I work around the Pause bar which flashes on and off... if needed  I crop out the bar

That's my way of doing things

Sometimes when I start the sim I think to myself that I want to take screenshots.  I start Mgrab and the sim, and then set up a flight and set up angles throughout the flight.  I always do the flight and do it the right way, but along the way I take screenshots.  Then for landing shots I watch the replay and set up different angles etc...

After the flight I open Picasa and go through the screens, pick the best onesk resize them and post them with a little story telling all about my flight.

It depends

sometimes I just fly around in an aircraft I like and suddenly I see a screenshot opportunity

or sometimes I want to take pics of a certain plane or scenery

or sometimes I have a title in mind, and I work around that.
