Here's Ozzy72 to announce his Choice for The Studio V Gallery:
After much deliberation... pondering... and gnashing of teeth I have to say Ecko had the shot that appealed to me the most. All of them were great and showed off the wonderful lines of a Spitfire in her element.
The main reason for the choice of Eckos is probably that I was reading First Light again the other day and remembered Geoff Wellums description of flying home into the sunset and that screenie was the mental picture I had!
I think all these shots just show the timeless beauty and classical lines of this truly great fighter. A legend in her own lifetime and still thrilling people to this day (some more than others)! No matter what people say you can't mistake a Spit for anything else... the distinctive wing shape, that growling Merlin/Griffon and above all the graceful way she soars through the skies.
She doesn't have an ugly line on her. Any angle you look at her from is beautiful. She is to me the most beautiful plane ever and nothing will EVER change that!
CONGRATS Ecko!
