Myself now if having to fly that area in that particular aircraft I would opt for Flotation Gear rather than Skids.
Thinking of the options available if the engine(s) quit, lakes and rivers make excellent landing sites and spotting a downed aircraft that hasn't sunk is much easier.

Just my thoughts...

Thanks, Doug! Can't see any flaws in your logic! This model does have floats. Next time they will be equipped!
