In 1945 I was walking home from school and heard this loud noise looked up and could see the pilots face and body in the shiny P-38, as he went by to go out over the bay of St. Louis, in Superior, Wi, and roll over about at 5000 and head back southbound over Tower Ave to south superior, .
his name was Richard Bong. Then in the 90's and living here in Austin, TX we got to see Lefty Gardiner do his expert piloting at every air show in south texas
