I just wanted to do a little project to get familiar with the MSFS2020 SDK and explore the
object libraries. This is WT37 Lockwood Dry Coulee in Okanogan, WA. It's in the
sim by default but it didn't get any love and the real life counterpart is basically
derelict. So I built the airport the way it would be if I owned the property.
The immediate area has a few center pivot irrigated fields that the sim
thought were forests. I de-forested them and added the center pivots.
The sim also treats orchards as forests. I hand placed all the "apple" trees to
make it look like it should. This is the back side of the "Honey and Heli's" shop.
Little girl excited for her heli ride.
Front door. Mountain heli tours and raw honey in one stop. Don't mind the
old timers on the porch they don't bite.
Keep an eye out for mama bear. Black bears love the terrain here.
From the air.
I found an "animated human library" that really brings the place to life.
(I'll list all libraries at the end) Mechanic and two impatient customers.
Caught lookin'.
I wanted it to feel like a working farm as well as an airstrip.
Moooo!
The real star of the show Mr. John Deere!
Breakfast!
The Geese! They take off from the North end of the field and climb out
to the South parallel to the runway.
Bees at work! You can see the hives in the background.
Double checking it today and done! I'll probably upload it here if anyone is
interested. It's not "true to life" but it's a lot more interesting. Obj libs used:
MSFS2020 Object lib, Emerald Object lib and Animated Human lib
(all freeware and available to developers. Links on request).
