Yea, verily. :-) That's always been my experience. Have been all through Texas except for the far southern tip. The eclectic mix of people and stuff is mind-boggling.
Thanks for the memory nudging, having first driven past it back during the 1980's before it was moved a few more miles down the pike in the later 90's.
Way strange when one isn't expexting to see such a sight, almost one of those eye-rubbing moments (followed by eye-scrubbing).
It does help to break up the monotony of those long stretches of semi-isolated highways through vast lands.
