I took off from Cardiff, heading north to see a bit of sunny old England.

As usual, I was using real-time weather.

Dawn above Sunny Old England







I kept heading north until I was over the Isle of Man. Still not much sunshine.


After a LONG while I decided to hang a right and head to Inverness


Time to start heading down.







Maybe I can find a suntan booth in this place.

Now you can see the sort of Poo weather that we English suffer, most of the year round...
...and the reason why I spend so much Sim Flying and exploring in Sunny California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, etc...

...anywhere, where its nice and warm and sunny!.... ....!

Its just past Mid Summer now, and we've had a couple of days of sun, and no rain, so far....

...if I can remember... .... ...!

So you took off in Wales, and landed in Scotland. Not a lot of England to see in that flight, sunny or otherwise.

I live in SE England, and we've had wall to wall sunshine for a week now. Almost too hot to bear. Almost!

Yup, you shoulda flown down South.

Been wearing shorts & other summery clothes, enjoying a few very cold beers (Fuller's Honey Dew beer) a few ciders & quite a few dark Rums over ice. Bliss!

Ever heard of the expression - birds always fly south for the winter!

A little bird was flying south for the Winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field.
While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him.
As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was.
The dung was actually thawing him out!
He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy.
A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate.
Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.
Morals of the story:

1. Not everyone who sh*ts on you is your enemy.

2. Not everyone who gets you out of sh*t is your friend.

3. And when you're in deep sh*t, it's best to keep your mouth shut!

You Blokes in SE England certainly seem to get more heat and sunshine than we West-Mid-landers do, so far, this year.

Slightly over-cast, but Sunny this Sunday. 73 degrees F. (in old money), and a pleasantly comfortable motorcycle ride from Hereford to Abergavenny (Wales) and back, for a Sunday Biker Meet. (Video Recorded).
We often get; "precipitation" (wet-stuff) from the Black Mountains during a South-Westerly Wind.

The older I get, the more I expect nice weather for my old bones!

70*F (+- 2*F), and 50% Relative Humidity, is the comfort Zone for we Humans...(and Butterflies?)... ....!

You missed the reason that I took off from Cardiff - Cardiff is one of the first Orbx Airports released for Prepar3d V4.


Sunny skies and fine weather is easy to get in a flight sim, but I often prefer real-time weather, sun, rain, or fog. Snow too, but it usually doesn't look all that great in a sim.
So once aloft and above the clouds I looked of to the east and saw solid clouds.


It was slightly broken to the north though. So off to the north, along the coast. This cloud system can't cover the entire UK.

Wrong.

The cloud coverage did break up near the Isle of Man though. But it didn't stay all that broken up.

I finally had to land someplace and haven't flown to Inverness for a long time, so I changed direction.


Wrong again. The flight to Inverness was worse than over Cardiff.

As I got closer I started down. More clouds.

More clouds.

More clouds.

Finally I was flying under the cloud cover and could see Inverness and it's airport right where it was supposed to be.



Now some may be thinking that I should have checked the weather BEFORE taking off.

But what fun is that!

I didn't miss the reason you took off from Cardiff, because you didn't state that reason. Being of Welsh heritage myself, I'd just like to say Croeso i Cymri.

There are many ways in which to "miss" something, and there is no reason that you should should have paid attention to this post - First Orbx airports Released for P3d V4 Bowerman & Cardi(ff), the "FF" having been truncated.

I read most subject titles, even if it has little to do with my interests. But that's just me.

Very nice pictures. I can hear the engines running, very realistic! I like to fly over England. I have been all around the places.
