It may have a new paint job, but this old plane and pilot know how to get in and out of short fields. :D

Mears Field (3W5) in Concrete, WA doesn't "officially" permit aircraft this size, but who's paying attention to rules?

Passengers? I bet that they had a good time too.

Thanks everybody.

This all started after reading how real war-time pilots sere able to get in & out of short very, very fields.

Getting a DC-3 up over the tree tops in Mears Field is actually pretty easy, at least in a sim.

After a bit of practice, landing the DC-3 in Mears Field gets pretty easy too. The WWII pilots could do it in about half the distance. :D

What helped me were these
