....up the I-40

On the very rare occasions when I want to cover a few miles fairly quickly, I leave my trusty Cessna 150 Aerobat in the hangar, and wheel out my high-speed, Helloware Beech Baron TC (Turbo-Charged).... :D ...!

(Another one of the lovely FS 2002/FS 2004 Aircraft that work an absolute treat in FSX!).

A speedy flight from Amarillo, in the flat plains of "Takes-us", following Interstate I-40 and Route 66, to Albuquerque in New Mexico, where the fun and fantastic scenery really starts!

Always lots of heavy traffic on the I-40 down below, and the occasional excursion off, on Route 66, (when you can find it!), makes a welcome relief!

Route 66: A fantasy trip I never fail to enjoy!

FSX: No fancy pics, Chums.... ;) ....Too busy enjoying the flight and the scenery!... :D ...>>>

Hello Doug....!

Many Thanks!.... :D ...!

There are loads of beauty spots dotted all along the 2,500 miles of Route 66, from Chicago to Los Angeles.

Historic Route 66 is a magic highway frequented by loads of visitors every year.

I regularly watch the whole of it, in the "Travel Channel" series; "Worlds Greatest Motorcycle Rides", ridden by Henry Cole on his Saxon Chopper Motorcycle!
There are some truly fascinating places along the route, particularly, for me, between Albuquerque and Barstow, a journey I would dearly love to travel on my Motorcycle!
I spend many hours in both the Flight Sim, and watching the Motorcycle "Eagle Riders" on You-Tube, travelling the route!

The joys of Flight Simming is that I can be there, every day.....for the price of a drop of electricity!..... ...!

I love exploring the amazing USA scenery...been doing it, every day, for the past 17 years now..... every place a surprise!

I've done the whole of Route 66 on my Flight Sim Beech Baron 58, many years ago, and recorded the journey in the FS 2004 Flight Sim!
