Yeah, it really exists - Greater Green River Intergalactic Spaceport in the Green River area of Wyoming.

And it really does look like this, although it's more fun to fly here than to look at the pictures. :D

Oh. The plane? It's an A-26 Invader. What else would you expect at an Intergalactic Spaceport but an invader?

What a wonderful find, OAM!.... ....!
How did you find that?..... :D ....!

Quote:
"Spaceport:
On July 5, 1994 Resolution R94-23 of the Green River city council designated this landing field as the "Greater Green River Intergalactic Spaceport", for inhabitants of Jupiter who might wish to take sanctuary in Green River in the event their planet is threatened by collisions from comets or meteors,[3] in apparent reference to the contemporary Comet Shoemaker–Levy 9 impact. No spacecraft have used the spaceport, and actual use has been limited to terrestrial aircraft".
End quote.

Google Street Map:
Just travel a little way down Highway 530 from Green River, park on the side of the road, and wander over the scrub to the Intergalactic SpacePort,..... in the middle of nowhere!.... :? ....!

Wipe you shoes before stepping onto the runway.

I love it!.... ....!

Little Green Men in Green River!

There's not much else to find in the State of Wyoming.... ....!
(I can see why I stick to the Pacific West!).

Paul..... ... ...!

Like Pete recommends; "Take what you read in "Wikipedia" with a pinch of salt!"..... ;) .... ....!
