I'm currently trundling around Europe visiting all of the free European Airports supplied by ORBX. What a lovely little package. Some of them are right out on a limb, Sweden and Croatia for example. There's quite few of them so it'll keep me busy for a while.

Here's an example. Not sure where this one was now....memory issues ;) Possibly Belgium ...er... Maybe Germany.

I'm flying my newly acquired C207 SkyWagon, clocked up 50 hrs in it:

I'm also using the Opus Weather package. What a difference it makes to the experience:

When my current mission is done I think I'll do the ORBX free US Airport package.

Thanks Masabi.

I have just finished visiting the French airports and still have the Italian, Swiss, Greek and Austrian ones to do.

Do you need to have purchased an Orbx package previously before you can download these? If so they aren't freeware .....

They should work OK in without the other ORBX stuff. I'm fairly sure you will need the ORBX libraries installed to get them to render in their entirety though. Many of the airports are small strips with a few buildings and folk around, others are quite large with jetways and the like. One of the larger ones was in Sweden if memory serves

There's 57 European airports and an even larger number of US airports going free. I'm sure OldAirmail has highlighted these addons before.

I've had fun visiting them all so far. It takes a bit of working out to find the most efficient route. I've given myself the extra objective of only refueling at pumps. Not all of the smaller fields have them so I have been landing at various other airports to top up.

I have FTX Global which cost $99 but you can add the 400 free airports and they are beauts. If you don't consider that a good deal, then you've probably never bought an add-on.

ORBX rules!

Lol......I'm glad you reminded me of that.

On the subject of Squirrels. The Red variety has been nearly extinct in many parts of the UK for many years, there are a few colonies in Scotland and the Isle of Wight. I have never seen one in my life. The Grey Variety is stronger and more adaptable, it also infected the Reds with a nasty virus that helped decimate the population.

Today a Red Squirrel was seen and photographed in my local park :-).........They have developed a resistance to the virus and their numbers are increasing for the first time in 140 years. Ain't nature marvelous.
