Ahh, My Younger Days

A repaint of Mike Stones C141 Starlifter, something to remind me of the days when I was assigned with an AA 82nd Airborne Engineering Battalion.

The Twisting Tube of Pain! She never looked like that when I flew her. Mike Stone makes nice models. Fun shots. Thanks.

Always great to hear of these real life recollections! Did you paint that?

Did you also try this model from Alphasim that includes a VC?

GlobalHobo, the idea was purely mine own to add the patches of the 82nd, 101st, Golden Knights, 173rd, and the 18th Airborne Divisions to the aircraft. Just more of a personal touch to the aircraft for myself.

Pete, I do occasionally break out the paint editor and paint aircraft, yes I did paint this C141. I believe I do have the Alpha Sim aircraft as well just archived for now :) I'll post a few more shots of some aircraft I have repainted over the years here in this thread.

Thanks for the replies fella's :)

A Paul Clawson C-170 haven't added any paint yet just bare metal, I've enjoyed painting a few of his aircraft. RIP Paul

A 2D panel I created from scratch for any single engine prop. This one the Aqua color, did one in Red and Light Black Chrome.

Ah, the good old 141. Spent many an hour in the back end of those during my first tour in the Navy. The VP squadron I was in deployed quite often and for the most part we went via USAF C-141's (the C-5 wasn't operational yet). I was always amazed at how no matter where you sat in the tube the air conditioning always blew cold air right down the back of your neck.

An Aircraft Mechanic only needs two tools, Duct Tape and WD40.
If it moves and it's not supposed to - use the Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and it's supposed to - use the WD40.
