Arkanoid - - thank you for the link to the "Duck". Never heard of this company. That Gloster Gladiator looks interesting too.

The one by Swingsman is indeed much better, but there is yet another one, the "Bad Duck" by Paul Domingue, also freeware, and that is the one I'm painting:

Obviously, we have Ducks in abundance.

Beautiful pictures of bird that I could never love.

Still, a very interesting aircraft.

Thank you, one and all.

You could not love?
but it is beautiful! (Although I agree, in an odd sort of way, a bit like a real duck).
Interesting fact, first one was made in 1933, and they were still making them in 1945..
How many aircraft can say that? It must have been doing something right...

Bits & pieces.

Twenty odd years ago I worked for Martin Marietta.

Well, Martin Marietta was formed from the merger of Glenn L. Martin Company and the American-Marietta Corporation.

Needless to say, a lot of "stuff" that was no longer needed went into storage.

The Glenn L. Martin Company had more than a few WWII success stories., some big, and some not so big.

My story come in when I was asked to assist in a drug search.

I didn't find any drugs, but I did find something that I wish I could have smuggled out.

It was some very old plans marked SECRET, for a 1945 amphibious fighter.

Needless to say, it was never developed, and was not really a "secret". Simply a forgotten piece of history.

Something similar to this: (Except without the Japanese stuff on it, of course. :D )
