Goodly afternoon all...

Old Girl gave me some time to do a simulated flight...bless her pointy little head...

Windows 7 and Microsoft FSX & Acceleration

Many lakes, rivers and bays here are still not frozen over solid enough to do some ice boat sailing or landing an aeroplane with skis or wheel skis on...

I had to follow a flowing river north into some falling snow to find a suitable little lake to do some touch and goes on...had to keep an eye on the fuel...could be a long walk out of the bush...

Aircraft: DeHavilland DH80 Puss Moth on skis
Season: Winter
Time: Early morning

Snowing, but I need to do a precautionary inspection of the frozen lake...

Pretty pictures are always nice, but with a story line it's even better.


BTW - I've never tried landing on snow with skis. I'll have to give it a try soon.

I am sorry, but I can't, with a straight face, fly a plane labeled "PUSS" anything. I just can't!

By the way...if you have never flown a real DeHavilland of Canada Tiger Moth...then you have not flown a Real Aeroplane...

Dont worry about puss (without "y")

In common spanish the male sex is feminine (sorry: la (she) polla).

And the female sex is masculine: (sorry: el (he) coño).

I've heard the usual explanation for the name. I suspect the real reason is that all the DH Moth family (except the Tiger Moth) had folding wings for easy storage & could also be towed behind a car. With their wings folded they resemble a moth at rest.
