Following advice from Old Airmail I downloaded the freeware Yosemite Valley scenery from OrbX.
I installed it in both FSX and P3D, but I think there's a mesh conflict in my FSX.....it doesn't look right. Looks fantastic in P3D v2.4 though....

Heres a couple shots of some of the main attractions.

To get the most out of the Yosemite scenery in FSX you need Orbx's Northern California payware, which should solve the mesh issues. But, be careful...it's easy to get hooked on Orbx products and spend all your disposable income.

Great pictures, Chuck. Especially the first.

Most of my time is spent close to the bottom. Maybe I should change my name to Maze Rat. :D

A western explorer... ... as Paul would say. :D

Don't get too low or we'll call you "Bush Whacker".

Hawkeye

P.S. Chuck79 Those shots are great! Either one would make a great FSX opening splash screen.

Thanks guys O0

@FlexibleFlier....I have FTX NCA.....and every other NA release by OrbX......I know of the addiction first hand. That is not the issue. I believe the problem I have in FSX is due to a conflict with GEX NA

I'll tell you what.... ;) ...

The Sierra Nevada Mountains are scary enough in the default scenery, but with the combination of OrbX FTX mesh, and the freeware Yosemite Valley scenery from OrbX, the Yosemite National Park area is definitely NOT a place to lose an engine....

...trust me!.... ....!

I had to climb to 13,000+ feet AGL to clear the peaks, with my poor Cessna 150's Continental engine (and me) gasping for oxygen as I adjusted the air/fuel mixture strength, and exhaust gas temperature, to obtain the maximum power available...and make sure the Pitot tube is nicely warmed, when necessary!

Climbed over the Sierras from Modesto, Central Valley, very slowly, to land near Mono Lake in Owen's Valley...with a big sigh of relief...PHEW!.... :D ...!

Paul...edge of the seat, with bum tightly clenched!.... :o ...!

.... ... ...!
