Great pic. I think that flying in that kind of places are dangerous for a tiny plane.

An interesting read found in your link -

Learning to love forest fires in Yosemite National Park

"Fire looks destructive and dangerous and would kill organisms made out of wood," he says.

Excluding fire from the ecosystem allowed leaves and other vegetation to build up around the trees. The litter stopped seeds from germinating in exposed soil and a dense canopy of foliage blocked the sunlight from reaching the forest floor.

But scientists have come to realise that years of suppressing fire in Yosemite prevented the trees from reproducing.

Excluding fire from the ecosystem allowed leaves and other vegetation to build up around the trees.
The litter stopped seeds from germinating in exposed soil and a dense canopy of foliage blocked the sunlight from reaching the forest floor.

"I think that we need to see more fire and the benefits of fire," says Mr Smith.

OAM....

Allowing the Forest to catch fire and regenerate is an age old idea that actually works....

...the trouble is....Folks, for some strange reason, insist on building houses in the middle of the Forests, and hope that the Lord will save them from destruction!

..it rarely works... ;) ...!

Nice shot...love that aeroplane... ;)

Perhaps if one is going to do that kind of aviating they should take one of these, and, there are a few in Canada and the United States that can be taken with one's own aircraft or a rental aircraft.

Thanks, Arkanoid.

Your comment led me to the second, and much better, Yosemite Valley post.

They've got a lot of free scenery downloads (and here), but I think that you may need the FTX Global Base Pack to use them.

Although I really don't know, because I already have FTX Global.

It's a bit pricy - GBP£54.72, but I think that it's well worth the price. And if you factor in all of the free sceneries, it may not be all that high.
