Hahaha...
Like Paul ( Fozzer ) said recently,...and I too reflect his experience...
Tried flying these things for years, and even got a payware or two, hoping that the aerodynamics and such may be more accurate and help me with my flight, particularly the landing.
Nope...no luck at all.Once in a while,I get a soft landing, but it is simply luck, and I have never made a good landing twice in a row.
My usual landing involves heavy rotor bump, over compensating the flair just before touchdown, and then Ai get a bump and grind session that would have put Miley Cyrus' twerking expose' to shame.
My next step after so many unsuccessful landings,..???
...shoving all helos' into a new folder and storing them in frustration,LOL !
Takes quite a bit of skill to handle a chopper.
And sometimes some brute force.
Like the chopper pilots in the Marines used to say ( probably ALL chopper pilots say it..) ...
" Helicopters dont fly...
... they beat the air into submission. "
;)

I had applied for Helicopter training in the RAF. At the 1st lecture, we were all made aware that in the event of a catastrophic failure, it was a "no survival" situation. Afterwards, we were given the opportunity, during the "any questions" to be deleted. Guess what? <<t

Helicopters?... .....

Nah!

.... ... ... ...!

I gave up on those strange things in FS '98.... :x ...!

I consider that life is far too short to spend/waste time trying to master their peculiar idiosyncrasies*.... :( ...!

If I feel like a spot of flying with an aircraft fitted with a fan on top, on rare occasions, I stick to a Gyrocopter/Gyroplane....Much easier to fly.... :D ...!

Helicopters are amazing machines...
...for other folks to fly/risk their lives on!... ...!

Landing a rotor is like touching a womans breast very gently :)

Nice Merlin shots..........she's a wonderful chopper....

Ah Helos, once mastered it's wonderful...........either a twisting joystick or rudder pedals is recommended, disengage the auto rudder (realism settings) within the game ,
tweak the joystick sensitivity settings to your liking..........feather the throttle during landing, be gentle with it man !! push the stick forward or back is like taking baby steps, be easy on her !
FS9 was a great improvement over CFS (we had a statement in CFS, anyone can fly a fixed wing only a few can master the helo..........
FSX is better yet, much, much easier to fly a helo for sure
