El avión De la Mancha. A Spanish mesh story

Postby OldAirmail » Mon Jul 07, 2014 10:01 pm

Hopefully that title didn't get all screwed up.

Last weekend I tried downloading mesh & scenery from this site - Listado de Directorios: //SPAIN_PHOTOSCENERY/.

The coverage of Spain looks to be complete. Of particular interest to ANYONE who may want to fly low & slow over Spain is the MESH which is LOD13 / 5 meter.

This is probably better than you can buy unless it was included in special scenery.

I'm sure that there has to be some irregularities somewhere, but I haven't seen any in the small sampling that I was able to download.

They seem to be having some problems.

My guess that a RAID disk set is having problems because most of my downloads were done between 11K & 30K.

I just tested it again. Speeds were better, but not great.

When I can do a better job of it I'll post more pictures.

But for now I just want to show the difference between my FSGenesis (which is better than standard FSX/Prepar3d mesh) and the 5 meter mesh that I downloaded.

No spectacular views this time. That would be too easy.

Just rolling hills.

IF you drag & drop the two pictures to your desktop (depending one what viewer you use) you should be able to use your arrow keys to rapidly switch back an forth for a better view of the changes.

Particularly funny is that the mesh under the plane changes, and tips the wings a little.

Hi OAM!

I didn't need a side by side, just scrolled down and could see the dramatic difference! Well done!

Don't forget to tell the folks to set their terrain mesh sliders to 5 meters to take full advantage of this mesh if they decide to use it!
