Recreating an historic flight by simulator

Several years ago I read "The Cannibal Queen" by Stephen Coonts. It recounts a trip he made around the USA in his Stearman with his teenage son along for most of the trip. The book has a map showing where his stopping points were and I intend to fly the same route in a stearman that is as close to the cannibal queen as I can find. She had a closed cowl and so far all I can find are earlier models with an exposed engine. This simulated flight will probably take months but I think it is a way I might enjoy the flight sim experience more and not get bored. They started in Boulder, Colorado so that is where I will begin.

After starting out from Boulder Co. I realised I was following the second half of Stephen Coonts journey. So I have restarted using the route of phase one that also started in Boulder. While looking for a download of a stearman that more closely resembled the Cannibal Queen I found his plane with the route map included but it was for FS 2000 which I assume is not compatible with FSX and I don't know how to convert it.

A great, often overlooked, Stearman that works fine in FSX is this one. Wrong color but you could repaint it -----

Payware quality. It has modelled 3d clickable switches, modelled engine components, etc - amazing creation!!

I might check it out but I noticed this one is much more modernised than the actual Cannibal Queen and is only a single seater.

Hi Modlerbob,

If you can send me your plane or tell me where I can find it, I will try to convert it to FSX for you. But keep in mind that not all FS2000 models can be converted to FSX, it depends on the design program that was used by the author.

Says it's for FS2000.

Thanks Bass, the one I am using is already quite good but not exactly the Cannibal Queen as it is uncowled. I have downloaded the one you suggested and will see how it is configured.

It is the same as the yellow Navy one I am already using, just a different paint scheme.

Kurt, I remember downloading that one. It was a very nice aircraft except for that.

Some errors I can live with, others will cause me to simply delete the plane.

Yes, hertzie is seeing this. And he's reading it too . He'll see what he can do, but would like to know from Modlerbob which plane he's going to use.
