Dinos' Viking

Postby CHUCK79 » Thu Jun 12, 2014 9:50 pm

Thanks to Davido for the heads up. I had been loosely following the progress
of this model, but I didn't know that a beta had been released.

I made a short test flight ending (eventually) with a carrier landing. I'm impressed once again by
Mr. Cattaneos' skills. Even in Beta this aircraft is well on it's way to being a Cattaneo must have!

Taking off from Langley AFB (I know it's a Navy plane......Langley is my default start location :D )
Image

My first approach to the carrier.....
Image

....way high.....bolter!
Image

Second attempt (all right...third attempt) lookin' better....need to get lined up.....
Image

.....over compensated for my two previous over shoots and got the two
wire (see the sparks from the hook touching before the gear).
Image
Thanks 4 lookin' :D

Thanks guys O0

@Greg.......yep there's a problem between P3D and Nvidea. Nvidea Inspector will not override P3D settings like it does with FSX :( :(

I see it has a launch bar lug. Does this work? I do have a Viking but it only lands...no joy on launching however.

Thanks! I will test drive and get back when I see what it does with my frame rates. I run win7 and acceleration but I think it will over run my processor. :geek: :geek:

WOW. Highly detailed....frame rates stutter around ai traffic but not like it wants to lock up. Line up with the carrier from 10 miles out come in flat and fast and cut throttle near the fan tail. Now if I can get the hud to display in the 2d mode it would be a no-sweat landing. This plane will keep you busy but it looks like a winner. Many thanks to Dino for this fine addition.
