Mountains

Postby CHUCK79 » Wed Jun 11, 2014 7:37 pm

The Pacific Northwest is home to some amazing mountains ....mostly in the Cascades range.
Here's some shots of a few examples.

Can anyone name the mountains?
I'll give hints......

I have a jar of ash from the event this that caused this mountain to blow it's top in 1980.
See the steam coming out of the crater?

A popular beer (In the Pacific NW in the 80s) is named after this mountain.

This one has a Greek sister with the same name.

Two out of three....the last is not Mt. Shasta ;)

This is Mt. Shasta: (From one of Skunkworks' incredible submissions that actually inspired me to go mountain hunting) viewtopic.php?f=42&t=170166

Hey Chuck! I want to say Mt. Olympus!

I must say these three shots have blown my socks off! Having kept my ORBX libraries up to date I only recently noticed steam at Mt. Saint Helens

Thank you for your kind words, but I'm afraid my mountain shots pale in comparison!

Happy flying Chuck!

Greg

Ok then 3) Olympia

Sorry bout that. I can see Shasta from my back porch, and I summited it when I was around 14 or 15 with my school group (Lassen too...), so I jumped to a conclusion. I don't think all that well that time of day any way :)

A few weeks ago I few over, and around, the first two.

Interesting with FTX Global, but nowhere near as good or interesting as yours. :o

Great going. :D
