Goodly afternoon all and a rainy day it is... <<q

Just finished a hours simulated flight in FSX with one of my favourite bugsmashers.

Just a few shots... :)

FSX and Windows 7
FSWC...Flight Simulator Water Configurator
ORBX Weather Theme
Aircraft: FSX Default Piper J3 Cub
Early Dawn

Gosh...looks like everyone is heading in to work...
Image

My Instructor said something about rising terrain...HMMM
Image

Always look for a good spot to land just in case the engine quits and stay within gliding distance to land...gosh that instructor of mine is right full of information...
Image

Wonder what my Instructor would say if he could see my high speed dive with a pull up above the water?
Image

Hey all you fighter jocks...eat your hearts out...I am in a tight turn and I might just buzz that boat down there... :D

Comments and advice most welcome... <<q

Great shots, Doug.....looks like you were havin' a good time O0
I used to have a styrofoam RC plane who's career was ended by a high speed pull up.........the wings broke right off and the fuselage continued toward earth at a frightening rate....left a hole where it hit

I did notice though....the reflection in the side window(shot 2)is of a yellow interior :?

The pictures of the good old Cub remind me of late fifties when I got my PPL on a similar aircraft.
Slightly underpowered, no flaps and handstart (a couple of swings of the prop).
It nevertheless gave me a sort of advantage when I joined the air force pilot training a couple of years later.

Cardinal errors, Doug.... ;) ...!

Engine out: Too low for spotting a landing area.
Too tight banking: Wing stall!
To low in a deep valley: No room to turn around.

Need "Invincibility".... ;) ... ....!

Paul...Me?...I'm always flying much too low!... :o ...But I am "Invincible"... ...!!

There are many times that I am very thankful that I am flying my Cessna 150 in the Flight Sim.....and NOT my local Club's Cessna 152, for real!

I'd recommend turning your water settings up to Low 2X. Otherwise, it looks great.

Thanks folks... <<q

Hi Chuck...noticed that in shot #2 also.
As that is a FSX Default aircraft would that be a problem with the FSX Program?

Thanks Paul...much appreciated.

Thanks tinpusher...we owned a Cub and a Super Cub...what a difference between the two...
Oh the art of hand propping...

Thanks Russell Irwin...much appreciated for the tip...

Hi bass... <<q

Just noticed that now you point it out.

Chuck pointed out in his reply about the interior shot showing the inside of the Piper Cub as yellow in the reflextion when it is white.

Not sure if I have a problem with:
-FSX itself
-my video care that is not all that old
-the default aircraft in FSX
-ORBX Weather Theme as the clouds do not look quite right now I look at them again
-perhaps the ORBX Weather Theme and FSWC "Flight Simulator Water Configurator" are not compatible here...even the water looks dirty

First time I have really seen this problem.

Have been taking the shots in FSX during the simulated flights by pushing the "V" Key.

OKAY:

Just restarted FSX without the use of any add-ons and tried all three Piper J3 Cubs.

The aircraft show up in their proper liveries when in simulated flight.

However the reflection when taking a picture from inside the different colour cockpits all show yellow.

Not sure why the above outside liveries turned the colour they did as didn't see a problem with this simulated flight and I used all three default Piper Cubs and at dawn.

HMMM... :o :?

Hey, Doug

I think the reflection is just an oversight.....when MS made the original J3 Cub they probably painted it yellow. Then they wanted a few variants, so they added some repaints. In this particular repaint they just forgot to repaint the window reflections to match the new interior color. Just a theory :)

I don't see any other weirdness goin' on......just shadows I think :D
