Fire Tower Inspections
Posted: Thu Apr 25, 2013 4:12 pmIn preparation for this year's wildfire season the lookout towers need to be inspected and resupplied. Today I checked two towers in the Mt. Baker National Forest near Lake Chelan, WA. Tomorrow we'll bring up some more supplies by slingload 
In the air after departing from Stehekin State.......
The first tower is called Miner's Ridge
Whoa.....this landing platform could use some repairs.
Off to the next one......Glacier Peak in the background.
Well, my next stop is down in those clouds and I'm not goin' down there 'til they go away.
Finally a break in the clouds....pickin' up a Forest Service employee here at Green Mountain Fire Tower who has been making repairs.
