Hi Daube "Stephane"... :)

Just trying to figure out what is going on with my Frame Rates.

These two shots make no sense to me as far as Frame Rates go.

FSX and Windows 7

Real Weather in REX2 was turned OFF in Shot 1.

First Shot Using:
REX2
ORBX Scenery
FSWC...Flight Simulator Water Configurator
Aero Files Texture Booster Pro.
Frame Rates set to 30

Second Shot Using:
I paused the computer...
Closed:
REX2
FSWC...Flight Simulator Water Configurator
Frame Rate still at 30

Only one (1) point difference in the Frame Rates?

I wonder because Real Weather is on in REX2 in most shots I posted in this Forum that is where the difference is?

The difference is quite significant also, almost half the Frame Rate with Real Weather ON.

Shot #1 used REX2 but Real Weather was Turned OFF.

Comments and advice most welcome... :)

Hi Doug,

Sorry for the late answer, I got some problems. I cannot access the "Freeware Screenshots" section. Luckily, your topic was shown as the latest one in the right of the screen after the section's name, so I could click on it directly.

Here I see no FPS impact, which makes me think that the impact might come from the cloud textures. If the clouds have much impact, there are three possible causes:
- the clouds drawing distance is too long in the weather options
- the clouds textures are in very high resolution (try 512 if not already done)
- the Transparency AntiAliasing is not disabled in the NVidia Control Panel, double-check this.

Let me know. Perhaps it might be a good idea to take the same screen again, but with some cloudish weather theme, to see the difference.

Really ?
Then I'm lost :/
These where the only settings that could explain the FPS hit... did you test with cloudish weather like I said in my previous message ? What is the FPS impact in that case ?
