Wonderful shots Bob...well done... ;)

Flying off and landing on Glassy Water is one of the most difficult tasks when Float Flying.

You can not tell when to flare when in the center of a lake.

We always try to land close to a shore or tree line which is even better.
This gives us a reference to how high we are and when to flare.
A good extended approach is also helpful as it will give the aviator more time to pick out references to his touch down point.

Several years ago a friend and I were landing in his Cessna 180 on floats, the river was calm...Glassy Water...he looked away from the reference points he was using and we touched down so hard both our sunglasses flew off our heads, I heard the water rudders bang and we both felt the jolt up our spines.

I didn't have to say a thing, he knew what he did wrong... ;D

Just a few points I thought of passing along...again...great shots... ;)

Here is a Link I thought you might enjoy Bob...
