Hey Doug, Beaver close shots !

Hi all,

These shots are just to illustrate some discussion we had with Flying Trucker about possible view angles when it comes to shoot a Beaver ;) In this discussion, I told that one of the nice view angles consists in showing just a part of the plane, in such a way that you remove from the screen all the possibly ugly parts of the background.

I suggested to try to place the camera next to the floats, at ground/sea level, and aim right at the engine. Since it was not so clear, here is what I got after moving the "right wing to cockpit" view with the usual commands:

In this picture, I placed the camera next to the right float, and zoomed out to 0.70 or 0.60. The plane has a good orientation, but the docks are quite ugly/blurry, so it was not such a good idea to show them

I guess I'll be the one to say it...
Nice Beaver!   :D ;)
There's nothing quite like a good Beaver shot. :D :)
Seriously though,  I love the camera angles.

Thanks Stephane..."Daube"... ;)

The second shot is what I was looking for... :)

The last shot is the best, I think the only problem is the possibility of door damage when the engine starts up when in real flight.

I started the DeHavilland DHC-3 single radial engine Otter on amphibious floats with the door open a number of times and it is not really a good idea... ;D

When that door shut...it shut...and lucky the window was down... ;D

Thanks for taking the time to show us some great camera positions Stephane "Daube"... ;)

Oh yes, that makes sense !  :o
I didn't think that in real life, the prop blast would just "blast" the door :P
Ok, then let's say: same shot with engine shut down  ;D
