...for the first time in 12+ years of MS Flight simming, following the viewing of the Justflight, free, Boeing 757 for FSX, today I left my little Cessna 150 in its Hangar, donned my Captains suit, placed my Captains hat nonchalantly on my head, and entered the world of my FS 2004 Boeing 757...>>>

My first ever flight in a Commercial, Passenger, Aluminium Cigar tube!

Took off from San Francisco International airport (KSFO), followed the Pacific Coast, radio navigating from VOR to VOR, to finally land at Los Angeles International airport (KLAX)!

The flight went surprisingly well, and quite quickly, cruising at 325 knots on full Autopilot.

I need to add one or two useful/vital! bits and bobs to my instrument panel tho'...

Pitot Heat switch (Pitot Tube iced-up during the flight, and no switch!)
Wing de-ice switch.
Air Brake position indicator.
OAT gauge. (Outside Air Temperature).

...and I need to install my full Bendix-King Radio stack for full radio control.

..and one or two other bits and pieces, as I feel the need for them, with my FS Panel Studio!

The complexity of a Boeing passenger jet's controls, confirmed the benefits of using a 2D Cockpit Panel....

...everything in one place...and no scrolling around desperately trying to locate an elusive switch, somewhere in a Virtual 3D Cockpit!... ... ...!

It might not be realistic, but its very practical!.... ..!

I made the return journey back to KSFO with no drama, and I didn't lose any passengers en-route...which is always very satisfying!.... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]...!

I generally prefer VFR flights at (very) low level in my light aircraft, admiring the scenery below!.... ...!

I don't know why, but about 50 percent of my flights are in a big boeing, usually either the 747-400 or the 737-400.  You get used to the 3D cockpit sooner or later.
