This one was impressive to be offered as freeware here on Simviation, The MH-53 Pavelow Package, but as always, I have to get stuck with some problem with these add on aircraft, everything works like a dream CEPT the gauges in the VC wont lite up, they work in the 2D but not in the VC except for the map, the map does work, I've changed the gauges around moved files back in forth and still they wont cut on, but once again she's such ah nice piece I think I'll keep her! 8-)

The helo looks great! Is it the one from Alphasim released as a freeware? I keep expecting a shot where the helo transforms into a Decepticon  ;D sorry guys, Transformers have been playing on tv too many times recently.

Thanks for the props on the shots pfevrier! Yeap, I'm pretty sure this one came from Alphasim, I have two other of their payware helicopters and this one has the same trademark symbol on the thumbnail 8-)

Wow that looks great!

I happened to see it the other day and was going to download it, but got to doing something else. When I came back to get it, the site was down. Doh! Good to know I can get it now, and that it looks great!

Yeah gtirob01, I'm wondering if maybe the site shutting down had anything to do with why my VC gauges are not working  except for the map, maybe I didn't get the full download or something, cause soon as it was done the site went down.....I have FSX with SP1 & SP2 no Acceleration, is that why my gauges don't work? Anybody got any tips, this thing is too awesome, with ah outstanding sound file to not have the dash lit up??? :-? :-? :-?

I've just downloaded this file to check it out. After a quick look at the contents I'm sorry to say that I have my suspicions about it. The panel.cfg has recently been updated. (It's dated Saturday, October 08, 2011.) The VC entry includes only 8 gauges.

The instructions in the Readme leave a lot to be desired & some of it is quite frankly complete nonsense. I would expect an aircraft of this quality to include a full operating manual.

I'm pretty sure this one came from Alphasim, I have two other of their payware helicopters and this one has the same trademark symbol on the thumbnail

That's the Alphasim trademark. To the best of my knowledge their MH-53 Pavelow was never released as freeware.

I must add that I haven't tried it in FSX yet.

So do you think this helicopter is a pirated version of the Alphasim one?

Hmmm, unless this was released as freeware, I believe it to be this;

http://www.flightsimstore.com.au/produc ... scsfnc9er3

in which case, this is still a payware product. Been trying to find anything saying if this is now freeware or not.

Yeah I had my suspicions about it too soon as I saw the thumbnail and that trademark symbol and knew it was made by the people I paid for 2 helicopters from already, but I hate to say it y'all, but screw that, I aint giving mines back now, that's on them..LOL! ;D ;D ;D

I highly doubt that Alphasim/Virtavia had any hand in this being released for free. On all sites I see, it is selling for around $33 USD.

It's only a suspicion. I've asked Pete to check it out.

Ok guys, need your thinking caps.....so I took a closer look at the files in the panel folder for the gauges and from what I can tell is all those blk_background bmp's are the problem, I notice now how in game play I can see a slight flicker at the top of each gauge window so it would seem that the gauges are being blocked out by this blk_background to me, this is the same problem with canopy's on the Super Hornet that show black and you cant see through them....when I had the SP1 only update mines were fine, soon as I added the SP2 all my canopy's went black on my Hornet, so it seems to me that the gauges are there, I can see the flicker, I think I need to edit these black backgrounds, anybody know how to do that, or can I just remove them all together??? :-? :-? :-?

This MH-53 was uploaded to this site by Dunken Avionics......seems like I've heard something about them/him/her being associated with pirated stuff before :-?
