With all the fires lately, I thought this repaint would be apt. I chose Cabin Creek USFS (I08) @ Big Creek Ranger Station, ID at random, and let me tell you,

I could not have picked a more difficult location to get into. You have to take off downhill and land uphill, regardless of wind direction. And the strip is curved to boot.

Thanks for looking. :)

Well done Larry...shots are wonderful... ;)

The last shot reminds me of several runways not only around here locally but some we had to fly into and out of on regular scheduled flights.

One in particular that has a huge wooded hill at the end you landed uphill, unable to see the other end of the dirt strip for about the first three hundred feet and then the curve.  If I remember right the runway was about 800 to 1000ft long.

We have more than sixty (60) forest fires burning now in Central Ontario

Oh just saw the bear Logo and got me thinking about the aviation wilderness. And how do you land on that runway? Dont you roll back when you come to a complete stop? You must be An awesome to be able to stay at the center of the runway. I'm jealous

You would, if you didn't hold the brakes. Who says I stayed in the center? ::)

Goodly morning Larry and a very warm one it is here also... :)

I was wondering if you follow these standard procedures when landing up hill on a small bush strip...now some other Old Retired Rocking Chair Flying Geezer told me about them... :)

(1)...going down the valley you always blow the aircraft air

Serious question. Are those real procedures? Especially the bear Part.

Are you familiar with Wikctionary or maybe Webster's dictionary, and why we have a 'roll eyes' smiley? ::)

sarcasm (plural sarcasms)
(uncountable) A form of humor that is marked by mocking with irony, sometimes conveyed in speech with vocal over-emphasis.

Insincerely saying something which is the opposite of one's intended meaning, often to emphasize how unbelievable or unlikely it

sounds if taken literally, thereby illustrating the obvious nature of one's intended meaning.
