......looky what I found ;D ;)

After our conversation about skis on the DC-3, I went diggin' around looking for an alternative to the Awesome 4some model.......here's what I found:

Manfred Jahn has done a very nice C-47 Skytrain (which I downloaded a while ago and it's a very well done model in my opinion):

After I dug around a bit.....I found this expansion download for it that adds a ski model (it has a big beak due to the radar) and another livery (it also comes with new contact points for

Wonderful shots Chuck. Love the 'ski' shot. I think it looks great with the long nose, a little Connie esque. :)

Beautifull shots of a beautifull aircraft.
It looks like the "Awesome 4 some" DC-3 is about to leave my hardrive, since this new model looks much better.
That will be yet another good reasons to do the "Denali Camp" mission with this DC-3 on skis. I have already done this mission several times with the DC-3 with skis in the past, I even posted some shots about it if I remember correctly :)

Good Morning Chuck... :)

Thanks for the two Links... :)

Most modern skis today are much better designed, stronger and have a non-stick coating...

One of our sons has flown and still pilots several different aircraft with different ski types, one being the DC3.

You can also see:
-hydraulic lines at least that is what I think they are...not sure
-front and back rubber protectors on the ski when the

Thanx Chuck!  That is one very nice piece! 8-)

Thanx for fixing us up with where to get it!

One thing though.........in the 'read-me' it gives a mod for contact points that I'm not sure my noobian self is up to doing.

The .cfg mod shows this: (and the associsted instruction)

"(5) For pure snow operation you may want to use the following contact
points. Keep original contact points as comment lines. Novices be warned
that any typo here is likely to cause rather drastic side effects.

POINT.0 = 1, -56.00, 0.0, -2.40, 1200.0, 0, 0.93, 72.0, 0.15, 2.0, 0.695, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0
POINT.1 = 1, -18.55, -9.12, -9.22, 1600.0, 1, 1.89, 0.0, 0.54, 1.33, 0.686, 50.0, 10.0, 7.0, 166.0, 166.0
POINT.2 = 1, -18.55, 9.12, -9.22, 1600.0, 2, 1.89, 0.0, 0.54, 1.33, 0.686, 10.0, 50.0, 7.0, 166.0, 166.0"

I'm not too sure that I oughta do that mod.  Partly because the instruction shows "Keep original contact points as comment lines."  How is that accomplished?

And is this necessary for regular operation?  It looks like it mods the entire (read wheeled) aircraft.

Signed,
a tad confused!

Thanx in advance!!! 8-)
