I have noticed a few posts of......I think Doug would say "rag and tube" aircraft lately (this one appears to be partially constructed of aluminum panels).
Please correct me if I have the terminology wrong, Doug :)

This is the nicest freeware bi-plane I know of.....it was in one of the posts that

Ah, the Tiger Moth. Not the right Doug but I do know a bit about this lovely aeroplane. The fuselage is "rag and tube", steel tube covered with doped fabric. (The curved decking behind the cockpits is plywood.) The wings & tail feathers are of fabric covered wooden construction. The only aluminium panels are the engine cowling.

And you are correct, it is one of the best freeware aircraft available.

I was a little late getting on today...Easter Egg hunt for grandchildren and great grandchildren had priority... ;D

The weather...cool and frosty...but we all had great fun and eggs and hot cross buns... ;D

It was probably a standard building material back then......I just never really gave it a thought ;D
