From Montana to the Pacific!

Postby Titan_Bow » Mon Jan 10, 2011 6:43 pm

I just finished an awesome trip in my Cub. I started in Billings, Montana, and flew across Montana, part of Idaho and Oregon, and the entire state of Washington; basically the entire East-West coverage of Orbx's Northern Rockies and Pacific Northwest scenery packs.

That looks like a very fun flight to do.
Would you mind letting us know what routes you took? I'm sure some of us would love to try it too  ;D

Here's the route I took:

KBIL to KLVM - Pretty straight forward leg here, wide open prairie, Big Sky country :-)
KLVM to KBTM - following I-90, starting into the foothils.
KBTM to 32S - Again following the interstate for the most part.
32S to 4U7 - Get ready to head into the mountains now.
4U7 to 051D - Winding through the valley, following the Selway River, the scenery is beautiful here, as the

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Nice shots indeed, and that's quite a long route for a Cub !
But the landscapes must have been worth it, right ? ;)

Would have been an incredible experience to do in real life. Being a simulator, I was able to fly a leg here or there when I had a free hour or so, but it was definitely worth it.

From Hope, it's cool to fly up to Pemberton, nice landscapes, with valleys and lakes.
And if you download the "Scar Creek Outposts" scenery from Hovercontrol.com (there are several versions, one is made for PNW), then the area around Scar Creek will become very interesting to explore, with some very challenging mountain strips :)
