A Big Plane with a Short Name

Postby Spindrift » Thu Jan 06, 2011 10:56 pm

You guessed it, the Short S.45 Solent by Jens B. Kristensen.

A little cruise over the San Juan Islands. ENBseries cranked to 11. Enjoy!

Wonderful shots... :)

Shorts made a big mistake when they did not make these aircraft into amphibians like the Consolidated Canso/PBY5A or the Grumman Albatross... :)

Thanks everybody  ;)

I wish she were an amphibian, I think i'd fly her a little more often if she was, but there is a certain charm not to be had in anything less that a "Flying Boat".

Thanks to all you SimVees for your inspiration, you're starting to carve a warm little place in the corner of my being...

The co-pilot has definitely been nicked from the set of Airplane! ;D ;D ;D

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

;D ;D ;D I knew it looked familiar........
Also, the last shot is kind of a double image. If you just look at the silhouette, it's hard to tell if the plane is coming or going 8-) :)
