Thanks! It was inspired by the new HBO mini-series The Pacific. An awesome movie which I highly recommend.  :)

It is also my favorite era for aviation and military history. When I was growing up, there were tons of really good WWII movies. I spent many a Sunday afternoon watching them, and fell in love with images of U.S. Naval equipment, ships, aircraft, etc.
