My Hawker Siddeley over Innsbruck

Unfortunately I had to cut a lot off the image to get it to fit the file size. :(

Use a paint program like Paint Shop Pro or any number of others to resize it to 1024 wide and compress it down to 150 kb to meet forum requirements.

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

I have PSP 7 and reduced it from 2048 down to 1024 but the file size was just a tad too big, so I had to hack off some with crop. After reducing the picture size it was 257kb.

This is the same aircraft landing at Innsbruck. Same original resolution at 1024. But this was 172kb. File size of a JPG has everything to do with the number of colors used and how many pixels next to each other are different and how different they are. A solid black image for example will be very small file size because you have one color for the whole image. Whereas my first image had tons of detail.

It always looks awesome while I'm flying, but by the time I upload the image is grainy and looks like crap. I plan on getting FSX after the holidays, perhaps my screen shots will look better. I have some of the best hardware and have all my settings cranked up. I've played around with some of them to see if things get better, but they don't. I try putting the graphic setting for aircraft to very high, but it always reduces it to high. Not sure why.

The forum limit per image is 150 kb, 600 kb total per thread. To compress after sizing to 1024 wide, click on save as, the click on Options. I don't remember the exact format for PSP 7 and I have 9. But there will be a button to click after you click on Options that will give you a compression assistant to compress the file size down to 150 kb. You might want to experiment with a trial image before your next upload so you are familiar with the process. All my shots start out at 1980 x 1024 and I crop and/or resize down to 1024 wide and then compress.

I found the compression option. Mine start out at 1280x1024 and first I resize to 1024 but then have to crop. I've got a new couple to try out.

So this is 1024x819 72DPI 24bit color depth
