Sight seeing...

Postby patchz » Tue Nov 23, 2010 6:28 pm

I decided I wanted to do a bit of sight seeing, from ground level. So I downloaded Mitsuya Hamaguchi's BMW modified for FSX by Mike Keller, and Bruce Fitzgerald's Humvee and Halo Warthog. The BMW is nice. The Humvee

looks good but does not react realistically to terrain. The Warthog is a hoot. This thing is unreal. It will climb almost anything and running wide open over a pretty good hill gives a lot of air and it lands right side up every

time. It has no gauges except for the default 2d and I had to tweak the alpha channel for the windshield to make it clear. But it is a blast. I took it out in the desert around Edwards AFB and found nothing it could not handle.

Also, there are no lights and braking tends to pull hard left. But that causes it to spin out pretty realistically at low speed. Fun, fun, fun. All three are in the FSX Misc section on our server.

Thanks for looking.

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Afraid my four wheeling days are over, too hard on the old body... ;D

Spent lots of time in the bush with the different Land Rovers we had.  Wonderful machines... ;)

That shot by the Space Needle looks real.  Your Warthog appears to get more air on a bounce than the Wright brothers got at Kittyhawk  :).

The "fx_wing_guns" comes with a few add-ons.  If I recall, I got it from the FSX "Spitful", but I tink a few others have the effect also.
