Land of the Midnight Sun

Postby patchz » Wed Sep 01, 2010 9:37 pm

After watching Ice Road Truckers, I decided to take a trip from Coldwater to Deadhorse, in December.

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Thanks Justin. :)
I had not planned to take any shots, but I've learned to go ahead and load FRAPS just in case. When I took off, it was so beautiful I just started taking shots. I need to fly more up there in the winter.

Happens to me a lot, I load up RapidShot everytime I fly just in case.

Goodly morning Larry... :)

I know...I know...you are going to say...OOOOHHHH here he goes again.... ;D

I was thinking of your comment about watching "Ice Road Truckers"... ;D

Here it comes now...wait for it... ;D

Did you know that the Beaver was known as the "Half Ton Truck of the North"?

Hi Larry... :)

I agree with you about an DeHavilland of Canada DHC-3 radial or turbine Otter for FSX.... ;)

Here are some specs if you want to take the time and read them....

http://www.vazar.com/index.html

http://www.xdh.ca/DHC_Aircraft/DHC-2/dhc-2.html

http://questaircraft.com/index.php?filename=kodiak.php

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cessna_208

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell-Boeing_V-22_Osprey

From what I see the Turbo Otter will out perform a wheeled Kodiac even on Amphibious Floats and it is odd how closely the Kodiac and Caravan resemble the Beaver and the Otter.

Hi Larry you are welcome... :)

You must have been copying my post while I was adding to it.... ;D

That's okay... ;D

Also while I have your attention I notice there are several great new float plane bases in the Scenery Downloads.

Now I have done those downloads with the FSX Rocks and Mountains, Trees etc.

[color=#000000]I don't know which ones you are referring to Doug, but the ones I have added work fine so far. Except Katie's Lagoon, which puts a number of buildings and other objects either in the air or partly inside a cliff. But I don't think that has to do with other addon scenery. I think it has to do with the anomalies I've been having, probably due to a corrupt mesh, which I have yet to locate.
