Back in the days when Scotland and England were less of a Union, HMS something or other used Eilean Donan castle for gunnery practice - reduced it to a stack of bricks, rocks and mortar.

I've had that scenery for FS9 for quite a while - disappointing, not even Stirling Castle which, like the one in Edinburgh, is alive and well sitting on its rock.

I love castles...old and new... :)

OH those were the days.
A man could go out on horseback and pillage the folks he didn't like and slay the odd dragon...except for Puff of course... ;)
Take the other guys castle and make it your summer home...awww yes... :)

Come home to a warm hearth after a several month hunting and pillaging trip.
Meat, vegetables, pies, fruits all laid out on the table lit by candlelight.
Wine and beer for one and all.

Entertainment...aw yes...after the cooking the women danced and sang for the glorious pillagers.

After several days the men could rest and the women folk would clean and do the dishes.... :)

AWWW...yes...whatever happened to those good old days... :)

I know...womens equal rights put an end to most of it...hmmm...I knew the old girl's relatives would have something to do with ruining my dream... :P

Well Larry...as I can't seem to fly those whirly birds too well right now I think I shall go back and look at those castles of yours and dream of the good old days.... ;D

Hey old girl, I need another pain pill.... :-X

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Though I've never seen one in person, I'm quite fond of castles too Doug. But I really love the rolling hills of Scotland. I would really like to go if I could.

Hi Larry

Although not the only castle in Canada it is one of the most toured... :)

You need to see this castle at Christmas...Awesome splendor does not describe it enough... ;)

As our children were growing up we made dozens of trips to this castle during the different Canadian Seasons...wonderful, educational and well worth the visit... ;)
