Ah. My home airport. Great shots, and I'm glad to finally see someone post shots of the airport. 8-)

Very crisp images! I especially like the composition of the 2nd one. The colors in it complement each other perfectly!

I keep hoping a scenery designer will make a KSAN scenery with the Marine Corps Recruit Depot next to it. 3 months of boot camp and the only thing separating us from the runway was a fence. Every time a plane took off we dreamed of sitting on it with a Scotch, on our way to our girls back home...we called them "freedom birds" 8-)
Then I got stationed there for three more years as a communicator, and everyday I would walk to the fence line and watch all the air traffic. I wish I was into photography back then, I had found a killer spotting location on base. Ahhh the good old days.
After a few months I knew the flight schedule, all MD-83's, 737's, and A320's until about 5PM, then a FedEx MD-11 would take off, and a British 747 would take off, they only two heavies that flew from there. (The 747 has since been replaced with a 777) I knew that when the 747 or 777 took off it was almost time to get off work, I would wait to hear those growling engines 8-)

It's my hometown airport as well. I know the airport well as I've flown in and out of it many, many times. I love takeoffs out of here with the steep climb!

I'm just slow, OK?

Didn't bother to use my brain. Will try and do that more often.
