This pic is of the Concepcion and Maderas Volcanoes on Ometepe Island. These volcanoes are a part of the Pacific Ring of Fire.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_Ring_of_Fire
Ometepe Island is situated on Lake Nicaragua which, it's commonly believed, used to be part of the Pacific Ocean until volcanic activity cut it off from the sea.
Maderas is dormant but, Concepcion (the closer one) is very active regularly spewing gas and ash.
I had to go around again to get this shot of the volcanoes silhouetted by the sunset
This volcano is called Arenal and, is the most active volcano in Costa Rica. The Arenal Volcano is located on the Southeast end of Lake Arenal, a man made hydro-electric plant resorvoir. The dam creates as much as 7% of the nations electricity. I flew a little inside the restricted area to get this pic
